HATCHLATCH®

Features:
Any time an elevator stalls between floors, a risk develops that someone will panic or become impatient and try to exit the car by prying open the doors.

HatchLatch is an electronic door restrictor that prevents elevator doors from being forced open outside a safe landing zone.  Here's how it works:

  1. A solenoid/plunger assembly on top of the car blocks one of the door hanger rollers.
  2. Photeyes sense when the car reaches a safe landing zone.  Inside such a zone, the photoeyes send a signal to the solenoid.
  3. The solenoid lifts the plunger, allowing free door travel.

The electronic door restrictor shall be CSA approved and UL listed. It shall operate independent of all other elevator controlling devices. It shall install quickly and non-intrusively on most existing elevator door operators.

  • 100% stand-alone operation
  • Non-intrusive installation on existing elevator door control
  • Intelligent on-board logic limits solenoid operation by monitoring both the Door Zone and  Door Position sensors
  • Auxiliary relay outputs for:
    a) Door Zone output for updating older elevators without Door Zones
    b) AC Power Loss output with audible alarm to disable elevator with doors opened at next available landing
  • 7/16-inch (0.4375) steel locking pin coated with lifetime lubricant
  • Minimum of 4 hours battery backup operation
  • Exclusive solid-state cooling circuit for high-duty-cycle solenoid operation
  • Quick installation time
