Guide rail shall be of the rolled steel monorail
type with splices ensuring a positive, smooth joint. Stabilizing
rail, if furnished, shall be made from 2" x 2" cold-rolled
steel angle with splice plates ensuring a positive, smooth joint.
Controls shall be fully automatic allowing the car
to be called to or sent from any floor. Car shall stop level
automatically at landing levels irrespective of load. A
line-voltage terminal limit switch shall be provided to prevent
overtravel at the top landing which will remove power from the
hoistmotor and brake and which will require manual resetting.
Door interlocks shall be provided for all hoistway doors to prevent
operation of the Dumbwaiter unless doors are closed and to prevent
opening of any door except when the car is at that floor. A
slack/broken cable safety device shall function to stop the falling
car instantly should the hoisting means fail.

shall be kept in safe working order.
