Safety Products
  Features:
Any time an elevator stalls between floors, a risk develops that someone will panic or become impatient and try to exit the car by prying open the doors.
HatchLatch is an electronic door restrictor that prevents elevator doors from being forced open outside a safe landing zone. Here's how it works:
1. A solenoid/plunger assembly on top of the car blocks one of the door hanger rollers. 2. Photeyes sense when the car reaches a safe landing zone. Inside such a zone, the photoeyes send a signal to the solenoid. 3. The solenoid lifts the plunger, allowing free door travel.
The electronic door restrictor shall be CSA approved and UL listed. It shall operate independent of all other elevator controlling devices. It shall install quickly and non-intrusively on most existing elevator door operators.
- 100% stand-alone operation
- Non-intrusive installation on existing elevator door control
- Intelligent on-board logic limits solenoid operation by monitoring both the Door Zone and Door Position sensors
- Auxiliary relay outputs for:
a) Door Zone output for updating older elevators without Door Zone b) AC Power Loss output with audible alarm to disable elevator with doors opened at next available landing - 7/16-inch (0.4375) steel locking pin coated with lifetime lubricant
- Minimum of 4 hours battery backup operation
- Exclusive solid-state cooling circuit for high-duty-cycle solenoid operation
- Quick installation time
Specifications:
General Specifications:
Overall size of the control unit shall be 8"L x 6"W x 4"H, with a hinged cover on the control box. The enclosure shall be steel with a NEMA-1 powder coat finish. Two photo-electric eyes shall serve as sensors, and shall be IR-retro-reflective with a sensing range of six feet. Sensor target material shall be 1-inch-wide adhesive-backed retro-reflective tape. A solenoid shall operate the unit's locking device.

Performance Specifications:
The unit shall have an operating range of 20°F to 140°F. Photo-electric eyes and control board shall be solid state with indefinite life span. Auxiliary relays and solenoid shall be rated to withstand no fewer than 10 million operations. Life of the battery shall be five years. | Environmental | 20°F to 140°F | | Photo Electric Eyes | Indefinite life span (solid state) | | Control Board | Indefinite life span (solid state) | | Auxiliary Relays | Minimum of 10 million operations | | Solenoid | Minimum of 10 million operations | | Battery Life | 5 years |
Mechanical Specifications:
A 0.4375" steel locking pin shall be coated with a lifetime lubricant. Battery backup shall be rated for no fewer than four hours. System shall include a solid-state cooling circuit for high duty-cycle solenoid operation. Solenoid operation shall be limited by intelligent on-board logic that monitors both the Door Zone and Door Position sensors. Auxiliary relay outputs shall provide 1) Door Zone output for updating older elevators without Door Zones; and 2) AC Power Loss output with audible alarm to disable elevator with doors open at next available landing.
